Chef Vikas Khanna recently visited Bambai Nazariya, a restaurant located in the bustling and vibrant neighbourhood of Versova in the Andheri West region of Mumbai. Its claim to fame is more than just its lip-smacking food and laidback vibes. It is a restaurant run by trans and disabled people, and Vikas Khanna certainly seemed besotten by its charm.
He posted a video of him visiting this unique and progressive establishment. He was seen relishing lip-smacking food items in the video and interacting with the very helpful and friendly staff. In the caption of the video, Vikas Khanna warned prospective visitors that the staff might steal their hearts because he certainly left his own heart there!
He lauded Diego Miranda for his brilliant initiative and congratulated him on its success. Vikas Khanna certainly seemed to have the time of his life there!

According to an article published by The Times Of India or TOI, Diego Miranda built the restaurant to fulfil the vision his late father had. His late father dreamt of a space where people could be without the fear of being misgendered. And so, he worked to fulfil that dream and created Bambai Nazariya. Its tagline is quite fitting, “Nazariya Badlo, Nazara Badlega.”
It translates to “change your perspective, change your view.” Queer community and Trans people have faced some of the worst kind of social stigma. Their marginalisation from mainstream society forces them to take to the streets to beg. But initiatives like Bambai Nazariya are ensuring that trans people are empowered enough to stand on their own, one restaurant at a time!

It serves delectable Bambaiya dishes like keema pav, as well as some popular snacks like croissants. Whatever you try, do not miss their pink chai which is known throughout the land! Rest assured, Pihu, Sonia, and Visha will ensure that everything you want is served to you with a friendly smile!
