A large number of Indians have planned their vacations on the Diwali long weekend. Trains got fully booked and it was the perfect opportunity for the aviation industry to utilise the overwhelming travel demand. As the COVID-19 pandemic had dampened the festivities in the last two years, the urge to travel is higher among Indians now. Thus, airlines in India have exorbitantly hiked their festive season airfares to earn the maximum profits. Domestic flight ticket prices have increased by a whopping 20% to 40% for the Diwali season with almost all seats booked on non-stop flights.

Flights To Thailand Cheaper From Delhi And Mumbai Than Flights To Some Other Indian Cities

Thomas Cook has revealed that the average airfare between Mumbai and Andaman this year for the Diwali weekend is around ₹51000. As per a Curly Tales research on Skyscanner, the minimum one-way airfare between Mumbai and Andaman is ₹23,269, whereas, the starting price for a Mumbai-Bangkok flight on the same date is ₹22,930. On the same date, the cheapest flight between Delhi and Patna is ₹16,408 and the cheapest flight between Delhi and Thailand is ₹11,357. Flight prices between top cities in India like Mumbai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Pune and Bangalore have skyrocketed. Whereas, ticket fares for flights to Thailand and Vietnam are comparatively more affordable.
