December is peak travel season across the world, thanks to the winter holidays, Christmas, and New Year celebrations. While road trips are popular, air travel has seen a major surge, too. Delhi Airport Ranks Among Top 10
Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport has long been one of India’s busiest hubs, handling both domestic and international travellers every day. Now, it has earned global recognition as well. Aviation data firm OAG recently released its list of the world’s top 10 busiest airports, and Delhi Airport has secured a spot on it, highlighting India’s growing presence in global air travel.
In December 2025, Delhi Airport ranked 7th worldwide, recording around 4.31 million scheduled seats. According to NDTV, this marked a 9% increase compared to last year, showing a clear rise in air travel demand. With more domestic flyers and expanding international routes, Delhi Airport is clearly flying higher than ever.

Other Airports On The List
In the list of the world’s top 10 busiest airports for December 2025, Dubai International Airport once again claimed the top spot. It remained the world’s busiest airport, handling around 5.50 million scheduled seats during the month. This also marked a 4% increase compared to December 2024. Here’s the full list—
