Single plastic has very adverse effects on the health of both humans and wildlife. This plastic is typically used for making bottles, food containers and bags. This is the reason why initiatives are necessary to hold on the use of single plastic. Well, A petrol pump in the state of Rajasthan has come up with an initiative where in exchange of Milk packets or plastic bottles one will receive a discount on fuel.
Petrol Pump Serves Two Problems In One Initiative
A petrol pump in Rajasthan’s Bhilwara has started offering discounts on the price of petrol and diesel if the customer drops in milk pouches and plastic bottles there. The initiative focuses on reducing the waste of single use plastic by Ashok Kumar Mundra, who is the owner of Chhaganlal Bagtawarmal petrol pump located on Chittor Road. In exchange for these single use plastic items, the owner offers a 50 paise off on one litre diesel and ₹1 discount on one litre petrol. The initiative began on 15th july and by far Mundra has collected over 700 milk pouches. Mundra had expected the numbers to go as huge as 10,000 pouches in a month.
