India’s cocktail scene isn’t just keeping pace with Asia, it’s shaking things up. The World’s 50 Best organisation dropped this year’s Asia’s 50 Best Bars extended list (51-100) on July 3, and it features four Indian bars from three Indian cities–Goa, New Delhi and Mumbai. The presence of Indian bars in the list underscores just how diverse and dynamic India’s bar culture has become.
Bars That Are Establishing India’s Presence On Asia’s Drinking Map
Goa’s Bar Outrigger made a smashing debut at no. 55 on Asia’s Best Bars list. With cocktails that channel coastal India and an unapologetic focus on local ingredients like kokum, toddy vinegar, and cashew feni, this place definitely deserves all the attention!
Delhi’s Sidecar, clocking in at no. 62, has become something of a standard-bearer for Indian mixology. This isn’t just another cocktail bar; it’s a space where classic meets experimental, where barrel-aged spirits party with clever house infusions. Mumbai’s The Bombay Canteen (ranked 69 on the list) feels less like a bar and more like a love letter to Indian flavours. Cocktails here aren’t just drinks; they’re stories with earthy ingredients like curry leaves and gondhoraj lime playing the lead roles. It’s a place that feels bold and nostalgic in equal measures.
At no. 94 on the list, we have another Goan gem: Hideaway. It’s the kind of place you stumble upon, stay longer than planned, and remember fondly. With its focus on seasonal, local spirits and easygoing charm, Hideaway is very much part of Goa’s rising reputation as the ultimate destination for delicious cocktails.

How India Stacks Up And What The Region’s Best Are Doing
While Indian bars continue to impress, Asia’s big names are still setting the pace. Coa (Hong Kong), Jigger & Pony (Singapore), Bar Benfiddich (Tokyo), Atlas (Singapore), and Zest (Seoul) aren’t just bars, but have become labs of innovation, blending impeccable service with boundary-pushing drinks.
Looking back, India had a slightly stronger showing in 2024. Remember ZLB23 (Bengaluru) cracking the top 50? That was a big moment. And alongside Sidecar and The Bombay Canteen, bars like Home and Lair won big too! These places made sure that India was well-represented on the list.
While this is exciting, the butterfly effect is not over yet. The Asia’s Top 50 Bars list is all set to be announced on July 15, 2025, and the event will be held in Macau.
