In case you didn’t know, January is celebrated as Pride Month in Mumbai. Each weekend is bookmarked with fun activities specifically by and for queer people. And this Saturday, we have the ultimate pride event, which is the Mumbai Pride Parade! So gather all your queer friends and allies and put your rainbow shoes on! It’s time to march toward equality and inclusivity towards all! Here’s all you need to know about the event!
Mumbai Pride Parade: Where And When
Every year, queer foundations like Humsafar and Yaariyan LGBTQ+ host what is called the Queer Azaadi March. This year’s Pride Parade is dissimilar. It is being hosted by the Color Positive Foundation and will take place at Carter Road Bandra.
The gathering point is at Bandra Sea View and everyone is expected to be there by 4:00 PM sharp. The pride parade will start from the opposite of Taj Vila at 4:30 PM sharp and will end at the Carter Road Amphitheatre.
The walk will take approximately 13-15 minutes. The parade is relatively shorter this year as the organisation that is hosting the parade is doing it for the first time

Other Important Details About The Event
Both, the website and the Instagram account of the Color Positive Foundation specify that gathering on any elevated platform or stage is not permitted. The FAQ section of the website also specifies that using politically charged slogans, written or spoken, is not allowed as well. The section also asks paraders to not dress too revealingly or in a way that can be viewed as obscene.
Since January is the pride month in Mumbai, each weekend hosted fun activities by and for queer people. Last Sunday, which was the 22nd of January, there was the Queer Premier League. This Sunday, which is the 29th of January, there is the Gulabi Mela.
