Indian travellers are shifting the way they approach holidays, placing a clear focus on personal growth and independence. The report shows that 84% of Indians plan on travelling solo in 2025, driven by a desire for freedom and reflection. On top of that, 58% are open to spontaneous trips, whether it’s a quick international escape or a weekend road trip. This flexibility and inclination towards adventure are becoming key factors for Indian travellers.

When it comes to shopping, Indian travellers are now prioritising unique experiences and authentic, high-quality items. A massive 92% of Indians look for one-of-a-kind goods to remember their travels by, while 81% are keen on purchasing locally made products such as leather, rugs, and coffee beans. Furthermore, 84% of Indian travellers feel it’s essential to support small local businesses when they travel, which highlights a growing desire to travel responsibly and connect with local cultures in a meaningful way.
Smart Spending And The Rise Of Tech-Savvy Travellers
Indian travellers are also becoming smarter with their money. According to the report, 79% of them plan to use credit card reward points for flights, hotels, and car hire in 2025. Even more impressive, 84% believe combining credit card rewards with loyalty programmes provides the best value, especially for international trips. Technology also plays a significant role in travel planning. A significant 79% of Indian travellers download relevant travel apps before heading off, and nearly half (48%) now book everything – from flights to accommodation – directly through their smartphones or tablets.
