IndiGo Flights Diverted From Hyderabad
On Friday, three flights headed for Hyderabad’s Rajiv Gandhi International Airport were diverted to Vijayawada, according to Hindustan Times. IndiGo flights flying from Pune, Kolkata and Mumbai were unable to land in Hyderabad and were diverted to Vijayawada. The authorities have released a statement and mentioned that the situation is being closely monitored as heavy rains continue to lash over Telangana.
Apart from flight issues, many areas in Hyderabad are facing severe waterlogging. One of them is Mithila Nagar colony, under the Meerpet Municipal Corporation in Rangareddy district. The rainfall is expected to remain high in the city for the next two days, and Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has advised officials to monitor the situation closely.
Officials have been instructed to relocate residents from low-lying regions and stop traffic on flooded roads if needed. Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC), HYDRAA, National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), and State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) are already on standby to help during emergencies.
We hope that the situation in Hyderabad gets under control soon.
