Vande Bharat Express trains have turned out to be a major success. Indian Railways always announces these trains on new routes to improve connectivity across the country. Now, bringing an upgrade to these trains, Vande Bharat sleeper trains have been launched and here’s how many passengers have used them. Scroll down to know!

Passenger Response To Vande Bharat Sleeper

The first Vande Bharat sleeper service was introduced in January 2026. It’s running between Howrah Junction and Kamakhya, and no doubt it has received a strong response from travellers. According to The Financial Express, in just three months since its launch, the train has carried more than 1.21 lakh passengers. It has also completed 119 trips during this period. What stands out is its 100% occupancy rate, showing that seats and berths are getting booked quickly as soon as reservations open.

Passengers prefers this train because it makes travel feel a lot smoother and more relaxed. Many say overnight journeys now feel way easier compared to older trains, where comfort was often an issue. Looks like it was a much-needed upgrade!

Modern Facilities Inside The Train

Travellers also get to enjoy a lot of modern features inside the train. The coaches are built with better safety systems and much improved hygiene, so the overall journey feels more secure and clean. Another big plus point is speed. The Vande Bharat sleeper train moves faster than many regular long-distance trains. This means less time on the journey and more time at your destination.

This train comes with 16 coaches; 11 coaches are AC 3-tier, four coaches are AC 2-tier, and one coach is AC First Class. The route covers 13 stations between Howrah and Kamakhya. These stops include Bandel, Nabadwip Dham, Katwa, Azimganj, New Farakka, Malda Town, Aluabari Road, New Jalpaiguri, Jalpaiguri Road, New Cooch Behar, New Alipurduar, New Bongaigaon, and Rangiya.
