Actor, traveller, and filmmaker Vinayak Mishra (@thevinayakmishra) is currently on a trip to Paris. While exploring the city, he was shocked to see a different side of the French capital and shared his experience in a video with the text, “Paris gave me a plot twist in the first 5 minutes.” In the video, he was seen coming out of the metro station and was shocked to see the dirt and waste on the roads, and roadside sellers lined up by the street. He even said, “Kaha par hai ye? Ye Paris hai? Ye toh macchi market jaisa lag raha hai?” (“Where is this? Is this Paris? It looks like a fish market”). As he continues walking, he finally arrives at a place that looks more like the European paradise we see on the internet.
Despite the chaos he came across in the city, he still admired its beauty and in caption wrote, “Paris is real, raw, and still so beautiful. Paris is a multicultural city, and not every part looks the same. The area in this reel has a very different vibe, but that doesn’t mean the whole city looks like this. Just like in India, every place has different sides, and that’s what makes travelling so real and interesting.”

Online users were shocked to see a side of Paris that was entirely contrary to the image in everyone’s mind. The French capital is known for its beauty and charm, but this chaotic side definitely changed many people’s point of view about the city.
One user wrote, “It looks so messy, I’m guessing there was a busy market earlier and that was the aftermath.”
