Travellers flying from the UAE on Wednesday, September 23, should check their flight status before heading to the airport, as several services have been delayed or cancelled. Flight disruptions have been reported across Dubai International Airport, Dubai World Central and Abu Dhabi, affecting a mix of regional and international routes. Some services between the UAE and India have faced particularly long delays, while flights involving destinations including Muscat, Riyadh and Tehran have also been affected.

India-Bound Flights Among Those Affected

Passengers travelling between the UAE and India have been among those facing delays as per Gulf News.

Flight information showed some services to cities including Delhi, Mumbai, Kochi and Kozhikode were affected. Certain flights were running several hours behind schedule, meaning passengers could face longer waiting times at the airport or changes to onwards connections.

The disruption is not limited to one airline or one airport, so passengers should check their individual booking rather than relying only on the general airport schedule.

Cancellations Reported Across UAE Airports

A number of flights have also been cancelled from Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah.

Reported cancellations included services operated by Emirates, flydubai, Air Arabia and several international carriers. Routes affected included destinations in the Gulf, Africa, South Asia and other international markets.

At Dubai International Airport, cancellations included some Emirates, flydubai and international airline services. Abu Dhabi and Sharjah also recorded cancelled flights, including several Air Arabia services.

Check Your Flight Before Leaving Home

With schedules changing, passengers should check the latest status directly with their airline before travelling to the airport.

Travellers with connecting flights should also allow extra time where possible, particularly if their first sector has already been delayed. A significant change to one flight can affect baggage transfers and onwards connections.

Airline and airport schedules can change during the day, so checking once in advance may not be enough. Passengers should continue monitoring their flight as their departure time approaches.

If your flight has been cancelled or significantly delayed, contact the airline for the latest information on rebooking, refunds or alternative travel arrangements rather than heading to the airport without confirmation.
