Many countries have opened up for Indian travellers but the COVID-19 restrictions are in place with India being one of the most severely hit countries. In a recent development, Spain decided to welcome doors for Indians and the consular offices for visa applications have reopened. This means that Indian nationals holding a valid long-stay visa, students, workers, and people travelling for necessary reasons are permitted to enter Spain. Fully vaccinated Indian travellers can now fly to Spain but these are the entry rules in place right now!

Fully Vaccinated Indians Can Only Travel 14 Days After The Second Dose

Indians must show proof of their vaccination certificate that indicates they have been fully vaccinated with Covishield. Covaxin is not recognised in the WHO emergency list as yet. Children above the age of 12 should also be fully vaccinated and they cannot enter with a diagnostic or recovery certificate unless they travel under exceptional cases.
In addition, the vaccination certificate should indicate that the second dose of vaccination was taken 14 days before departure. Besides, the details of the name and vaccination date in the certificate must be written in English.

RT-PCR Test Mandatory For All Passengers

Passengers must also carry an RT-PCR negative test report taken within 72 hours before arrival or a rapid antigen test result not older than 48 hours. The COVID-19 test reports must be written in English too! Apart from these, travellers from India are must fill and sign a Health Control form that can be accessed and signed through the Spain Travel Health Portal or other mobile application devices. A QR code will be generated upon completion of the form which should be shown to the health authorities upon arrival in Spain. Indian Travellers Must Buy A Health Insurance Before Flying To Spain

Additionally, all passengers arriving in Spain will be asked to undergo a health check-up during entry. Please note that travellers can be denied entry if they do not comply with the COVID-19 health control requirements established by the Ministry of Health. When travelling to Spain, Indian travellers are strongly advised to purchase travel health insurance in case the trip gets unexpectedly cancelled due to the COVID-19 situation.
