When it comes to travelling between Mumbai and Bengaluru, it often feels stressful. The journey usually takes more than 20 hours. To make it easier, India is upgrading its railway network by introducing a superfast sleeper train, the Vande Bharat Sleeper, between Bengaluru and Mumbai. Read to know!

Vande Bharat Sleeper Train Between Bengaluru And Mumbai

At present, the Udyan Express is the only direct train connecting these two major cities. It covers the 1,136-km distance in almost a full day. However, after the announcement of a new superfast train service between the two cities, passengers have become very excited and are eagerly waiting for the next update.

With the new train, the journey between the two cities is expected to take around 14–16 hours. But here’s the good news! Onmanorama reported that Union Food and Consumer Affairs Minister Prahlad Joshi recently shared that Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw informed him about a possible launch by June. Earlier in April, Vaishnaw confirmed that the service will run as a Vande Bharat Sleeper train.

The Route Of This Superfast Train

The Bengaluru–Mumbai superfast train is expected to pass through Tumakuru, Davangere, Haveri, Hubballi-Dharwad, and Belagavi in central Karnataka. This route is designed with fewer stoppages, helping to reduce the overall travel time. It may also ease the load on the busy Solapur corridor. At the same time, it will improve connectivity to places like Belagavi and Hubli. The final list of stops will be confirmed once the official information is released.

The new train will have 16 air-conditioned coaches and can carry around 823 passengers. It will also use advanced suspension technology. The train can run at a speed of up to 180 km per hour. It will also have specially designed sleeping berths so passengers can rest comfortably during long journeys.
