Crack On China’s Famous Glass Bridge
The Baoquan Cliff World Scenic Area in Henan province, China, is home to a famous glass viewing platform known for its stunning views. As per Hindustan Times, however, on June 20, one of the glass panels developed cracks after a teenager struck it with an umbrella.
A visitor told the South China Morning Post that staff members quickly escorted people away after discovering the damage. Authorities also evacuated other visitors from the affected section. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.

How Much Damage Did The Umbrella Hit Cause?
Following the incident, the authorities decided to close the damaged panel areas, whereas tourists could still visit and explore other parts of the glass platform. The next day, a spokesperson clarified what had happened. The platform is built using three layers of laminated safety glass. Hindustan Times reported that the impact from the umbrella damaged only the top layer of a single glass panel.
The repair work on the damaged panel has already started, and authorities have contacted the original glass supplier to replace it. The incident quickly attracted attention online, with many people discussing the safety standards of glass bridges and viewing platforms.
