Swadesi Official, an Instagram page, reposted a video of a woman gripping the side of a boat, balancing herself while pulling her pants down and relieving herself in the middle of a lake. She squats on the ledge while a crocodile is seen swimming nearby. Her pants are tugged down, and her T-shirt lifts so she can relieve herself. In the caption, the page wrote, “Can she be deported?” Moreover, the text on the video read: “American tourist seen pooping from boat into lake in Udaipur.”

The claim by the page, along with the unusual visual, sent Netizens into a tizzy. A person commented in jest, “After eating spicy food”. Another wrote, “This should be on CNN and BBC News.” A commenter wrote, “She skipped the class for civic sense”, while another person empathised with the lack of toilet facilities on the boat.

Here’s The Truth Behind The Controversial Clip!

Before the Internet rages any further, here’s the truth behind the viral video.  First, the woman is not an American tourist in India. She is the popular Australian athlete and model, Ellie Jean Coffrey. Secondly, the lake shown in the video is not in Udaipur, India. Rather, it’s Lake Argyle in Australia, sitting in Kimberley, near the town of Kununurra.

Ellie posted a video from the same lake on her Instagram handle. She revealed in the video that a crocodile was “stalking her”, so she peed on the side. The model joked about the crocodile following her boat everywhere. Her video confirms that the clip is not from Udaipur in India, but rather from Australia.
