A 19th-Century Home With Victorian Charm

The beautiful, picturesque streets of Unionville helped bring the show’s cosy small-town charm to life. According to The Times of India, the original house served as Lorelai and Rory’s home in the pilot episode. And the surrounding neighbourhood also served as the backdrop for many other scenes. A nearby storefront was used as the exterior of Luke’s Diner. The Markham Train Station appeared as the exterior of Miss Patty’s dance studio.

The house was built around 1875, which explains its Victorian and Gothic charm. People who love history and cosy settings would totally fall in love with this home. The main house has two staircases, three fireplaces, including a vintage fireplace in the primary bedroom.

The kitchen also has that homely feel. It has a centre island and bar stool seating for meals and conversations with family. Reportedly, until 1984, the building operated as the town’s bakery. Today, it has been fully renovated with modern amenities like heating, air conditioning, electricity and internet. The house is represented by Sylvia Morris of Century 21 Leading Edge Realty Inc.
