Air India Launches The Maharaja Lounge At San Francisco Airport
The new Maharaja Lounge at San Francisco International Airport by Air India has started welcoming guests from May 23, 2026. You can find this lounge near Gate A1 in the International Terminal at SFO. Spread across 3,300 square feet, the space features luxurious interiors inspired by Indian aesthetics. The new lounge can accommodate up to 80 guests and welcomes Air India’s First and Business Class passengers, along with Platinum and Gold members of the Maharaja Club loyalty program. There is also a private area for First Class passengers.
Air India CEO and Managing Director Campbell Wilson said that the airline is working on improving and upgrading its services as part of a bigger transformation plan. He also explained that North America is one of Air India’s key markets, and the airline wants to offer better and more comfortable travel experiences.

What To Expect Inside The Lounge?
The Maharaja Lounge has been designed by the hospitality design company Hirsch Bedner Associates. The lounge features interiors with shades like champagne, ivory, and deep red. These colours match Air India’s signature style. Travellers can also spot special brand-inspired designs on the walls and furniture.
One of the biggest attractions inside the lounge is The Aviator’s Bar, which has a stylish vibe. Guests can enjoy premium wines, whiskies, and special cocktails like the Maharaja Manhattan, inspired by Indian spices such as black pepper.
For food lovers, the dining section offers Indian and international dishes along with live cooking stations, hot and cold buffet counters, and beverage stations.
