There are some places whose theme parks are always the highlight, and you’ll regret not visiting them at least once. Japan is one such place, where theme parks are among the biggest attractions. However, the famous Disney parks in Tokyo are now about to get more expensive. Read on to know more!
Tokyo Disney Parks To Become More Expensive
As per the latest update, Tokyo Disney Resort, which includes Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea, is set to become more expensive from October. As per News18, according to reports, this is the first time in nearly three years that the resort is increasing its ticket prices. The last price hike was in 2023.
The price hike comes after Japan increased its visa fees for foreign travellers. From August 1, the cost of a single-entry tourist visa increased from ¥3,000 (around ₹1,750) to ¥15,000 (around ₹8,752). Meanwhile, the fee for a multiple-entry visa also increased from ¥6,000 (around ₹3,501) to ¥30,000 (around ₹17,505).

How Much Will Ticket Prices Increase?
Right now, the highest one-day adult ticket for Tokyo Disneyland or Tokyo DisneySea costs ¥10,900 (₹6,374). But from October, it will go up to ¥12,400 (₹7,251), a 13.8% increase. News18 reported that this will also be the first time a Disney ticket in Japan costs more than ¥12,000 (₹7,018).
One thing to remember is that these ticket prices are not fixed. The cost depends on when you visit. If you plan your trip on weekends, public holidays, school vacations or other busy days, you’ll likely pay more. Reports say October 11, 17 and 24 will be among the most expensive days to visit.
As per the resort operator, Oriental Land, the ticket prices are increased because of rising labour costs, higher wages and growing expenses related to facility maintenance and operations. Apart from entry tickets, food and drinks inside the park are also becoming more expensive. Reports say prices for around 291 menu items have been revised.
