Why Did Six Flags Magic Mountain Close Its X2 Roller Coaster?
Six Flags Magic Mountain in California has closed its X2 roller coaster after many riders complained of brain injuries. As per BBC report, according to these riders, they suffered brain injuries after riding the roller coaster. The ride has been closed since July. According to the amusement park, X2 passed all its safety tests. However, with growing complaints from riders, the park felt it was right to close the ride.
What Is Special About X2 Roller Coaster?
The roller coaster is known for its thrilling experience, with seats that spin 360 degrees while the ride races along the track. It is also one of the park’s main attractions and often sees long wait times.

How Many Riders Complained About Brain Injuries?
Dordick Law Corporation, which filed lawsuits against Six Flags Magic Mountain, revealed that around 400 people contacted the firm. They claimed that their injuries happened because of riding the X2 roller coaster. A 22-year-old man, Christopher Hawley, died after riding this roller coaster.
The X2 roller coaster opened in 2002. It was first introduced under the name X. According to the Los Angeles Times, the ride was closed just a few months later because of design flaws. It was then closed again in 2007 to replace its trains with lighter ones. It reopened in 2008 as X2.
