Oldest Wing Walker Sets Guinness World Record
Many users are taking to their social media handles to share the inspiring video of the 97-year-old. What is fascinating is that she became the oldest wing walker, setting a new Guinness World Record. As per NDTV, the oldest wing walker is Betty Bromage, a grandmother from Cheltenham. She also broke her own previous record.
Bromage has completed six wing walks in the past 10 years. Her latest one came less than a year after she suffered a stroke in August 2025. Despite the setback, she decided to get back on the wing and take on the challenge once again.

Why Did Betty Bromage Take Up Wing Walking?
Talking about her life, Betty Bromage said that she would get bored if she stopped trying new things. Daily Mail reported that she also revealed that she can no longer drive and does not see very well. But rather than focusing on the things she can’t do, she enjoys what she can still do.
For Betty, wing walking is not difficult; getting onto the aircraft is. It’s because of her short height. But once she’s on it, she’s in her comfort zone. Also, there’s a purpose behind her latest wing walk. With this, she wants to raise money for Cheltenham General Hospital, where she stayed after falling ill.
Betty got this idea from the words she saw on the hospital wall while working as a nurse. That message was a reminder that she has only one chance in life. When she suffered a stroke, she was grateful for how the hospital took care of her and wanted to give something in return. Imogen Sims from the Cheltenham and Gloucester Hospitals Charity thanked Bromage for her efforts. The money will help the hospital buy equipment and support patients and staff.
And Bromage is not stopping just yet! She says she will have to come up with something special when she turns 100.
