Popular American alcoholic beverage brand High Noon had issued a nationwide product recall after vodka seltzers were mistakenly filled in Celsius energy drink cans. This incorrect labeling could cause people to unknowingly consume alcohol, and that’s why the US FDA has issued a warning for Celsius energy drinks consumers. Here’s what caused the labelling mistake.
US Brand Recalls Energy Drink Cans That Were Filled With Vodka
According to The Times of India, a labeling error resulted in High Noon to pack vodka seltzers in Celsius energy drink cans. This mishap has resulted in a product recall. While there are no reports of any illnesses yet, consumers have been urged to check their cans right away to avoid accidental alcohol consumption.
Reportedly, the shared packaging supplier mistakenly sent High Noon empty Celsius cans. These cans were later filled with High Noon’s vodka seltzers and added to the variety packs. So, some Celsius Astro Vibe sparkling blue razz cans were mistakenly filled with High Noon vodka seltzer. The brand has now recalled its Beach Variety 12-packs.
High Noon is currently one of the fastest-growing ready-to-drink alcohol brands in the United States. Its variety packs of fruit-flavored vodka seltzers is a hot seller. The vodka-filled energy drink cans were packed between July 21 and July 23, and the recall affects two production lots. They were shipped to retailers in Florida, Michigan, New York, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Virginia, and Wisconsin.
US FDA Issues Warning
The US Food & Drug Administration (US FDA) has issued a warning that applies to the Astro Vibe Blue Razz edition of the Celsius energy drinks. Consumers have been urged to check Celsius energy drink cans before consumption. They have been asked to avoid drinking cans with codes L CCB 02JL25 2:55 to L CCB 02JL25 3:11. These codes can be found at the bottom of the cans. They have been asked to dispose of the cans and not consume the drink. The US FDA also added that drinks without these codes are safe for consumption.
