Uttar Pradesh is witnessing a major flood situation, with around 3.53 lakh people affected across 26 districts. More than 17,500 people have been shifted to safer places as authorities continue rescue and relief operations across the state. 3.53 Lakh People Affected Due To Uttar Pradesh Floods
As the water levels of several rivers continue to remain high, the administration has stepped up its response in the affected areas. According to India Today, around 1,312 flood shelters have been set up, while 1,697 boats and motorboats and more than 1,000 medical teams have been deployed to assist people.
Among those evacuated, around 4,847 people are currently staying in relief shelters. Authorities have also distributed nearly 72,900 food relief packets and 3.67 lakh lunch packets to people affected by the floods. More than 5.52 lakh chlorine tablets and 1.87 lakh ORS packets have been distributed as part of health and sanitation measures.
The floods have also affected livestock, with more than 45,000 animals impacted. However, no livestock deaths have been reported so far, while authorities have distributed thousands of quintals of fodder to support affected animals.

26 Districts Affected By Floods
The flood situation has been reported across several parts of Uttar Pradesh, including Ayodhya, Varanasi, Prayagraj, Gorakhpur, Ghazipur, Ballia, Chandauli, Lakhimpur Kheri, Moradabad, Pilibhit, Shahjahanpur and Unnao, among others.
In Varanasi, rising water levels have affected several wards and nearby villages, while authorities have been moving vulnerable residents to safer locations. Meanwhile, rivers including the Ganga, Yamuna, Ghaghara, Sarda and Son have remained above danger levels at various locations, prompting officials to maintain close monitoring.
Rescue teams continue to remain on standby as authorities monitor river levels and vulnerable areas. With relief camps, medical teams, boats and food supplies deployed across the state, efforts are underway to ensure that people in flood-hit areas receive essential assistance and are moved to safer locations wherever required.
