Amid intense rainfall in Maharashtra, Raigad Police, with support from the Help Foundation, saved eight passengers stranded inside an ST bus submerged by floodwaters at Sarasai. The team also safely rescued a 72-year-old woman, with photos of the operation later shared by Raigad Police on their official social media handle. The rescue takes place as the NDRF increases aid efforts across the state and the Indian Navy continues to be on high alert.

Due to waterlogged roads in Bhiwandi, content creator Shadab Momin turned to comedy for public service by dressing up as Spider-Man and helping locals cross flooded streets. He was seen carrying children across waterlogged roads, guiding drivers away from submerged potholes and helping vehicles.

3. Villagers Form Human Chains To Rescue Over 100 Tourists In Khopali
More than 100 tourists were trapped after floodwaters rose unexpectedly near Zenith Waterfall in Khopoli. However, people trapped were rescued by residents, who formed human chains and used cables to pull them to safety before emergency teams got there. Officials later encouraged people to stay away from rivers and waterfalls, warning that water levels can rise within minutes amid heavy rains.
4. Mumbai Police Rescue Man Trapped Inside Flooded Drain In Dahisar
A man trapped inside a drain near a fast-flowing water outlet in Dahisar was saved by Mumbai Police with the help of residents. The Mumbai Police came to the rescue as they cut through an iron mesh and used ropes to pull him to safety before offering medical assistance and reuniting him with his family. Mumbai Police later shared a video of the rescue, praising the team’s quick response.
5. Fire Services Rescue Six Herders & 120 Animals From Rising River In Odisha
Heavy rains in Odisha’s Balangir district left six cattlemen stranded with around 70 goats and 50 cows after the Lant River rose suddenly. Acting on an emergency call, Odisha Fire and Emergency Services safely captured all six herders and the animals through strong currents. Officials stated that a delay in alerting officials could have led to a tragedy.
