US Airports Introduce New TSA Security Changes
According to CBS News, the United States Transportation Security Administration has launched a new programme called Gateside at some airports in the US. This new programme will allow eligible TSA PreCheck members without plane tickets to pass through security and enter the gates. This new change comes ahead of the 25th anniversary of the 9/11 terror attack. After the attack, authorities made security at airports much stricter.
According to ThePrint, TSA is also planning to roll out PreCheck lanes at some airports soon. These will make the whole process more streamlined. The facility will have e-gates with facial comparison technology, so flyers do not have to worry about their boarding passes and IDs. This new technology aims to simplify and speed up the checking process.

Select Airports May Allow Water Bottles Through Security
But here’s the most important thing! According to CBS News, the agency is actively considering allowing TSA passengers to bring water bottles through security checkpoints. However, this is still under consideration and will happen only at a select number of airports in the coming months. This new rule will be rolled out initially at US airports equipped with advanced CT screening technology and automated detection capabilities.
This technology can distinguish water from other liquids and identify potential threats. However, the authorities are still not fully prepared to eliminate restrictions on all liquids. The existing 3-1-1 rule will continue to apply, which says carry-on liquids must be in containers of 3.4 ounces or less.
