Indian Vlogger Shares His Experience From A Solo Trip In Europe

When we travel overseas, especially solo, we should always stay alert. Plus, it is also advised not to trust strangers too soon. An Indian travel vlogger, Gautam Sachdeva, found himself in a predicament while travelling in Europe and warned why we should not trust strangers abroad.

According to his Instagram post, he was in Berlin and had to travel to Prague. One of his Instagram followers messaged him and said that he lives near Munich, and Gautam could come and stay with him at his home.

Gautam trusted the stranger and decided to travel to Munich. When he reached the man’s home at around 1 am, he claimed that the man did not even offer him water or food. The next morning, Gautam went out to explore Munich. But when he came back, he requested the man to let him stay for one more night since his feet were hurting.

Man Demanded Money & Threatened The Vlogger

The next day, when Gautam Sachdeva decided to leave for Austria, the man allegedly started asking for €30 as rent. Gautam explained that the man himself had invited him and later started asking for money. The travel vlogger also mentioned that he promised to pay the man later through UPI. However, after a few days, he forgot to do that.

The man who invited him later started messaging him and allegedly threatened him. Gautam claimed that the man said he drank coffee at his home, stayed there, and even used the internet. He also allegedly told Gautam that if he still could not pay the rent, then he would face loss on social media and in life.  At the end of his post, Gautam wrote, “Always get your own stay, be it a hotel room or a hostel bed. Never stay at anyone’s place. Yes, you want experiences, get experiences, but not of staying at an unknown. Meri life ki solo travel ki first learning.”

Many of his followers also shared their opinions regarding the situation. One user wrote, “It’s okay. Just another lesson. You’ll come across moments like these,” while another user commented, “Don’t take anyone’s help like this. This is what happens.” Some users also questioned Gautam’s decision to stay at a stranger’s place without fully knowing him.
