1. A New Project In Yas Bay To Offset 450 Tonnes of CO2

There’s a new project coming up on the Yas Island of Abu Dhabi. Yes, Miral, which is a leading creator of immersive destinations and experiences in Abu Dhabi has signed an agreement with Emerge. So, the project will be designed to offset 450 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions each year. Not to mention, the solar project will also feature installations of 920 solar modules at the Yas Bay Waterfront.

2. Emirates Flight To Sydney Suffers A Technical Snag

Recently, in a report by Aviation Source News, it was mentioned that the Emirates A380 aircraft, which was flying to Sydney, suffered engine trouble. The flight EK412, which was an Airbus A380 was operating operating between the destinations of Dubai and Sydney. Quoting Aviation Herald, the report mentioned that the departure was relatively straightforward. However, there were reports of passengers hearing compressor stalls in one of the engines. As a result, the crew mentioned that they would not be able to continue to Sydney and they returned to the UAE. It’s worth mentioning that the flight landed safely.

3. AI Powered-Patrol Vehicle To Ply In Dubai

GITEX Global is an ongoing event at the Dubai World Trade Centre. The Dubai Roads and Transport Authority also revealed during the tech event that it will soon roll out AI-powered patrol vehicles. This will be done to monitor delivery riders from across the city and initially only five roving cars will be rolled out. It should be noted that each of these will be equipped with six smart cameras and all of them are going to a 360° view of the road. As a result, they will be deployed in the next year to monitor more than 45,000 delivery riders.

4. Drone Delivery To Soon Be A Reality

According to the Dubai Municipality, it was revealed that soon drone deliveries might become a reality in Dubai. As it happens, it can be as early as next year as the civic authority is charting up space to plan routes strategically. Not to mention, they’re also planning designated landing spots for drones and other area vehicles. Working alongside with civil aviation, the plan is to speed up the adoption of drones in several aspects. It’s worth mentioning that the project is titled Dubai Horizon System and it’s the second phase of the Dubai Digital Twin Initiative. So, with the expectations of improving the safety and security of air navigation, no fly and fly zones will be created.

5. Now Declare Valuables Through Afseh App

Now people who are carrying AED60,000 worth of cash, gold, jewellery, diamonds, or any other valuable item, while travelling can disclose the same to the government through an app called Afseh. It is mandatory for all passengers, travelling in or out of the UAE with items that are valued above the said amount to clear the same to the customs officers. So, residents and visitors who are entering or leaving the country, can now do so easily through the app. It should be noted that it’s been developed by the Federal Authority For Identity, Citizenship, Customs And Port Security and the details can be submitted through six easy steps.

6. Sheikh Mohammed Attends GITEX Global On The First Day

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum visited the GITEX Global technology exhibition on the first day of the event. With this edition expected to be the largest one yet, there will be 43 sessions that will be happening over an area spread over 2.7 million square feet. Not to mention, 6,000 technology companies and 1,80,000 specialists are participating in the exhibition. So, Sheikh Mohammed was seen walking through the exhibition hall, taking in the event along with his entourage.
