The Central Bank of the UAE (CBUAE) introduces two banknotes recently. The notes are the denominations of five and ten dirhams. The latest addition of these banknotes is technically the third issue of national currency. They represent the CBUAE’s goal of keeping up with the country’s progress. Also, it displays the vision for the next fifty years, especially in the financial and economic sectors.
Both The Banknotes Are Curated From Polymer
Both notes are of polymer and feature sophisticated technology and security features. Use a polymer that is both ecologically friendly and recyclable. The material is more resistant to wear and tear than typical cotton-paper banknotes, lasting two to three times as long in circulation. The notes feature a clear window with a photograph of Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the late Founding Father. They also have the UAE trademark on them. You can as well as observe the fluorescent graphics and inscriptions made with specific printing processes.

Glimpse Of The New BankNotes
The new five and ten dirham currency is the same colour as the existing denomination in circulation. This is to avoid confusion.
The Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, a religious, national, and cultural monument that has become a recognised global attraction, is shown on the front centre face of Dhs 10. The Khorfakkan amphitheatre, one of the Emirate of Sharjah’s distinctive cultural treasures, is on display on the centre reverse side.
The 5 Dhs note’s design has UAE national emblems and a representation of Ajman Fort in the foreground. A picture of Dhayah Fort in Ras Al Khaimah appears on the reverse of the note.
Availability Of These 5 & 10 Dhs
The Dh10 note will go into circulation today, while the Dh5 note will go into circulation on Tuesday, April 26. Current copies of the notes, as well as the new polymer versions, will come in use.
