The Gulf Countries Cooperation are seeking visa-free travel to Europe and exemption from Schengen border rules. This was revealed by the GCC Secretary General GCC Jasem Albudaiwi, in a report by the Arabian Business. If it comes to fruition, citizens of countries like the UAE, Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, Oman, and Saudi Arabia will be able to travel to Europe visa-free.
GCC Nations To Seek Visa-Free Travel To Europe
According to the report, GCC nations are applying for Visa-free travel to Europe and exemption from Schengen border rules. If this becomes successful, the citizens of these nations will be able to visit the European countries without a Schengen visa. This will include access to 27 European countries like Germany, Spain, France, and Italy. Seeking a Schengen visa waiver, the GCC Secretary General was seen stating that these countries deserve an exemption.
If Approved, It Will Allow Visa-Free Travel To Schengen Areas
The report also mentioned that since these are all stable countries, their exports are also positive and not negative. For those who are not aware, a Schengen Visa is an entry permit for short and temporary visits for up to 90 days in any 180-day period this visa can be obtained either in the form of a single entry visa. This allows holders to enter the area once. And it can also be in the form of a multiple entry visa that grants several visits to the area for us as long as the visa is valid.
