Recently, the World Economic Forum’s Travel & Tourism Development Index 2024 was released and UAE has jumped seven places globally, taking the 18th spot. This is a massive improvement from the previous 25th position that was held by the nation. However, it’s worth noting that in the MENA region, the country has done considerably well, as it has earned the first spot.
In fact, the UAE ranks first in Travel And Tourism Data Provision Indicator & Air Transport Infrastructure, it is second globally in Infrastructure Services; and third globally, in terms of Travel & Tourism Data Comprehensiveness, Air Transport Services Efficiency, and Travel & Tourism Policy And Infrastructure.

Take A Look AT The Top 10
It’s worth noting that the country ranks first, globally, in six indicators, making it among the top five in 15 others and top 10 in 27. In fact, it has achieved progress in a total of 32 such indicators! This is great news, as the UAE has set ambitious goals for its National Tourism Strategy 2031. It aims to position itself as a top global destination by 2031 and this strategy aims to boost the tourism sector’s contribution to GDP.
