UAE Weather: More Rains, Strong Winds In Dubai, Abu Dhabi Today

Dubai weather has been the talk of the town for a few days now! The winter is finally here and the UAE residents enjoyed the heaviest rainfall in the last 24 years. And now, the National Centre of Meteorology has predicted that Dubai and Abu Dhabi will continue to witness heavy rains and strong winds on Tuesday.

What’s It?

UAE experienced unusually heavy rains, reaching up to 15mm/hour for two and a half hours. The heavy downpour resulted in water logging in several parts of the city, as well as led to traffic congestion. The Dubai airport also came to a standstill due to the unusually heavy downpour. And it’s not over yet!

The National Centre of Meteorology has predicted a large mass of cloud approaching the UAE coast from the direction of Kuwait on Tuesday. The cloud is expected to build in northern and eastern areas by afternoon today and will gradually extend to some coastal and internal areas, possibly reaching Abu Dhabi.

Forecaster Amna Al Zaabi told The National: “The clouds will be associated with some convective clouds, rainfall, thunder, lightning and hail at times. Therefore please be cautious when driving in the rain.”

Temperature in Dubai and Abu Dhabi is predicted to be 21°C in Dubai and 20°C in Abu Dhabi. UAE received heavy rains over the weekend and social media was flooded with tweets and pictures of the rain. Residents enjoyed clicking pictures and sharing it on social media. Here are some of the pictures and videos of this year’s #Dubairains.
