According to a report by Gulf News, UAE retailers have spent months planning for Ramadan, using early procurement and strong supplier partnerships. This will let the retailers control the surge price instead of passing it on to consumers.
Price Stability Comes Before Everything Else
Across the sector, retailers have informed Gulf News that they are resisting price increases during a period when families naturally spend more on food. Staples such as rice, flour, cooking oil, sugar, and dates remain the main focus of price freezes.
Retailers argue that trust matters most during Ramadan, and shoppers notice when prices stay steady.
Ramadan Brings The Biggest Deals Of The Year
Ramadan remains the peak promotional season. LuLu plans discounts of up to 65 per cent on more than 5,500 products, along with a price freeze on 300 essential items. Its campaign includes Healthy Ramadan offers, a Dates Festival, Sweet Treats promotions, and special Iftar and Suhoor deals.
LuLu is also expanding its freshly prepared food range, which will include Ramadan combo boxes, Arabic grills, and ready-to-eat meals, available both in stores and online.

Online Platforms Push Speed And Savings
E-commerce players are matching in-store value with speed. noon is offering discounts of up to 70 per cent across thousands of products this Ramadan. On noon Minutes, pantry essentials start from AED1, dates are discounted by up to 50 per cent, and frozen food deals can arrive in as little as 15 minutes.
Grandiose is focusing on value with experience. With 47 stores across the UAE, and plans to cross 50 outlets by the end of 2026.
Retailers are simplifying how people shop during the festive season in 2026 and the future.
