Upcoming Projects In AlUla
1. AZULIK AlUla Resort
Expected to open in 2027, this eco-friendly resort in AlUla is one of the most awaited projects. It’s expected to boast 76 luxury villas across six different standards, spas, all-day dining restaurant, and even a nature-inspired art space.
2. Private Aircraft Terminal At AlUla International Airport
Egis has been awarded a contract by the Royal Commission for AlUla for building the private aircraft terminal at AlUla International Airport. This comes as no surprise since there’s ongoing expansion of infrastructure at the airport.
3. New Museums
There are two new museums that are being developed for the region. The first one is a contemporary art museum, which will be designed by Lina Ghotmeh, a Paris-based architect. While the second one is the Incense Road Museum which will be designed by Asif Khan, a London-based architect.
4. Chedi Hegra
Set to open in the fourth quarter of 2023, Chedi Hegra is going to be a hotel that will open at Saudi Arabia’s first UNESCO World Heritage site. Talking about the hotel, this property will boast 35 bespoke guest rooms. As it happens, this hotel will be built directly into several existing structures. These include an old railway station and surrounding buildings, like Hegra Fort.

5. AlMuatadil Equestrian Village
This is going to be a 285-hectare equestrian village in Saudi Arabia. It is expected to feature a main equestrian race track with a 3000-seat capacity. Not to mention, an endurance race track, a grass court with 600 seats, and a sand polo field with 400 seats are also expected to be a part of this area.
6. Sharaan Resort And International Summit Centre
To be designed by French architect Jean Nouvel, this project will be built in the Sharaan Nature Reserve. Talking about the upcoming resort, it will boast 38 suites, a spa & wellness centre, a kids club, an all-day dining restaurant, a sports centre, and a business centre.
