Fashionista and influencer, Urfi Javed has time and again set the Internet on fire with her sultry fashion choices and her frankness. Recently, Urfi Javed took to Twitter to share a harrowing incident with an Uber driver who fled with her luggage and then returned back sloshed after an hour. This incident has shaken the fashionista who has alarmed Uber India to take strict actions against the driver and ensure the safety of women travellers.

Urfi Javed Shares Harrowing Experience With Uber Driver

On February 21, Urfi Javed tweeted about the unfortunate incident that happened on her way to the airport. She stated in her tweet that he booked a cab to Delhi airport for 6 hours. On the way to the airport, she stopped for lunch. That is when the male driver vanished with her luggage in the car. After interference Urfi’s male friend the driver came back completely drunk after an hour.

Uber India Says Zero-Tolerance Policy Against Drunk Drivers

She tagged Uber India, and Uber India Support in her tweet along with sharing a picture of her ride details from Khubani to Delhi. Uber India immediately replied to her tweet apologising for her experience. The ride-hailing platform also stated that they have a zero-tolerance policy towards drivers consuming alcohol and drugs while driving an Uber. They claimed to send her an update via the Help section and also escalated the issue to the concerned team.

The fashionista also took to Instagram, sharing a picture of herself in a car. In her Instagram story, she calls upon Uber India to do something concrete for the safety of women. She once again revealed that she had the worst experience in an Uber with the driver who fled with her luggage and returned drunk.

Netizens Have Hot-Cold Approach To Her Issue

While some Twitteratis poured out support and empathy to her, others blamed her for various reasons. One asked her to at least hide the perpetrator’s details while accusing her of giving free publicity to Khubani. Others asked her why she couldn’t take a metro and then there were some that called it a PR exercise. Well, women’s safety is serious irrespective of a celebrity or any commoner involved.

We hope, Uber India takes strict actions and passes policies that ensure women’s safety at all times.
