The destination wedding of the US bride, Ashley Hall was on the verge of being cancelled due to President Ram Nath Kovind’s visit to Kochi. When a top official visits a place it usually results in tight security and cancellation of other events happening at the same venue. So when President Ram Nath Kovind had to visit a five-star hotel in Kochi, Ashley Hall’s wedding coincided with his visit, and it was literally about to be cancelled, as she was requested to move her wedding at the very last minute. However, this US bride’s wedding at the Kochi hotel was salvaged by President Ram Nath Kovind himself.

When Ashley Hall was told to shift her venue owing to the Presidential visit, she decided to take things in her own hands. She got in touch with the officials at Rashtrapati Bhavan through Twitter. And believe it or not, but things actually worked in her favour. She had planned her wedding months ago and had no idea that President Ram Nath Kovind would be visiting the same hotel in Kochi for the purpose of the diplomatic meeting.
She immediately resorted to Twitter to seek help from the Rashtrapati Bhavan. She tweeted at SOS tagging @rashtrapatibhvn after he planned wedding ran into trouble citing a visit from the President’s overnight stay at the hotel en route to Lakshadweep. In the tweet, she requested Rashtrapati Bhavan to help them with their security team so they don’t have to move their wedding from the hotel in under 48 hours. She also informed that they had been asked to reschedule the wedding.

The good news is, officials at Rashtrapati Bhavan saw her tweets and intervened. President Kovind’s secretariat immediately got involved and directed officials that his security drill should not come in the way of Ashley Hall’s wedding in Kochi at the five-star hotel. And that’s not all, she also received wishes from President Ram Nath Kovind for her wedding at Taj Vivanta Kochi.

Ashley thanked the state officials and hotel staff for their timely help and expressed hope that the wedding would commence with the blessings of the honourable President. Ashley Hall did get to have a happily ever after the wedding, that too with the wishes of President Ram Nath Kovind himself.
