After basking in the success of hosting the 76th Primetime Emmy Awards, Vir Das pampered himself with an exquisite meal in New York City’s most talked about restaurant, Bungalow. The actor-comedian shared a picture of himself with Chef Vikas Khanna at Bungalow with a heartfelt note.

Vir Das took to X( formerly Twitter) to share his memorable dining experience at Bungalow in NYC. Posing with Chef Vikas Khanna, the actor used the opportunity to pen down a heartfelt note to the renowned chef and entrepreneur. Das wrote that Khanna kindly fed him at Bungalow. What was amazing for him was that the restaurant is built in the midst of New York.

Having worked in restaurants in the USA as a dishwasher while making it big, Vir Das empathised with Vikas Khanna’s initial struggles. To make an Indian sanctuary in the Big Apple, the comedian couldn’t imagine what Khanna might have gone through. His dinner and interaction with the chef made him proud. When it comes to the food, he called it “so so so good”. He described Bungalow to be “utter innovation without alienation”. A dinner at Vikas Khanna’s Bungalow, in Vir Das’s words, “takes you home and still surprises you”.

He profusely thanked “brother” (Khanna) for his warmth and representation. And expressed his gratitude for the meal and pride in the chef and the stellar restaurant. His post garnered over 91.9k views and in no time turned into a fan section for the two celebrities. A Netizen called them “two progressive Indians”. Another agreed that Vikas Khanna’s warmth is “unbeatable”.

Many claimed that they wished to visit the USA only to dine at Bungalow. A person even called the chef “gold”. Another X user appreciated the fact that Indians were thriving in the USA.
