Vaccinated UAE Residents Can Now Travel To Morocco: Everything You Need To Know

Vaccinated GCC residents can now travel to a gorgeous North African country. Morocco is set to welcome vaccinated tourists and UAE Residents now have yet another destination to add to their summer bucket list. Morocco reopened its borders to international visitors on June 15, with a number of restrictions in place. Here’s everything you need to know if you’re travelling to Morocco this summer. Meanwhile, vaccinated UAE residents can travel quarantine free to 19 other countries this summer.

Who Can Travel To Morocco?

Travellers arriving in Morocco are split into two categories- A and B list countries. Visitors arriving from A list countries need not quarantine upon arrival. However, they must show proof of vaccination or present a negative covid test report taken less than 48 hours before departure. Children under the age of 11 are exempt from these requirements.

Visitors from list B countries, which includes the UAE, are further classified into two categories- Vaccinated and unvaccinated visitors. Vaccinated travellers are need not quarantine upon arrival, but must present a negative PCR test taken up to 48 hours before boarding their flight. Morocco recognises the AstraZeneca, Sinopharm, Sputnik, Pfizer-BioNTech, Janssen, Covishield, Moderna and Sinovac vaccines.

Unvaccinated travelers must quarantine for 10 days, upon arrival. Further they must present a negative PCR test report as well as a completed and signed declaration form committing to the 10-day confinement and a voucher confirming a booking at one of the country’s designated quarantine hotels.

Currently, there are 79 countries on Morocco’s B list. This includes Bahrain, Egypt, India, Kuwait, Oman, Pakistan, Qatar, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Seychelles, Sri Lanka, Tunisia and Thailand.

Are Restaurants & Cafes Open In Morocco?

Restaurants and cafes are open, but with strict restrictions in place. Facemask must be worn at all times and temperature checks will happen at entry and exit points. Beaches, resorts, wellness centres, cinemas, theatres, parks, playgrounds, museums and cultural sites are also operational, are also open, but social distancing and facemask is compulsory.

Which Airlines Are Operating From The UAE To Morocco?

Etihad has daily services to Casablanca and weekly two flights to the Moroccan capital, Rabat. Morocco is on Abu Dhabi’s Green List, meaning there are no quarantine requirements on your return to the capital.
