The Gandhinagar- Mumbai Vande Bharat Express was flagged off by PM Narendra Modi, on September 30, 2022, at Gujarat’s Gandhinagar station. This new train connects the capital cities of Maharashtra and Gujarat. And it’s the third Vande Bharat Express in India.

Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, Governor Acharya Devvrat, Union Minister of Railways Ashvini Vaishnav, and Union Minister of Housing and Urban Affairs Hardeep Singh Puri along with Prime Minister Modi attended the flag-off ceremony. The New Gandhinagar-Mumbai Vande Bharat Express Is Superfast

The new Vande Bharat Express is a Superfast Express. And it will officially start operating on October 1. Moreover, it will run six days a week except for Sundays. The departure will take place from the Mumbai Central station at 6:10 am and end at Gandhinagar at 12:30 pm. The return journey departure will take off from Gandhinagar at 2:05 pm and the train will arrive at Mumbai Central at 8:35 pm. The Express will take halts at Surat, Vadodara, and Ahmedabad stations in both directions.

The fare for the Mumbai-Ahmedabad journey in the new train by the executive chair car is ₹2,505. If passengers decide to go for the chair car, the fare is ₹1,385.

Uber Cool Facilities

The new Vande Bharat Express is a semi-High-speed self-propelled train set of 16 coaches that reaches 160 kmph speed in just 140 seconds. The train is specifically designed for better riding and comfort for passengers at 3.5 (riding index).

The train features a Coach Control Management System that monitors air-conditioning. Also, the system initiates communication and feedback to control centre/maintenance staff through GSM/GPRS. According to officials, the train is fitted with Passenger Information and Infotainment System in every coach. Moreover, the train is also installed with better floodproofing for under-slung electrical equipment and it will withstand floods up to a height of 650 mm.

Additionally, the train also has automatic plug doors with sliding footsteps and touch-free sliding doors inside coaches. And the cherry on top is that the seats inside the executive class are revolving. Totally better than any plane, we say!
