According to a Hindustan Times report, Prime Minister Narendra Modi may soon inaugurate the Khidkiya ghat aka Namo ghat after it completes its renovation. The 85th ghat in Varanasi will have the perfect blend of traditional ethos and modernity. This ghat is equipped with state-of-the-art amenities. An official revealed to Hindustan Times that Namo Ghat will have paintings on walls depicting Kashi’s rich heritage, a cafeteria, and large sculptures of folded hands in ‘namaste’, welcoming visitors to the ghat. This has become the identity of Khidkiya ghat so much so, that it’s popularly called Namo ghat.

Top-Notch Amenities At Namo Ghat
Chief general manager of Varanasi Smart City, Dr D Vasudevan revealed to Hindustan Times that Namo ghat will be developed in a massive area of 21,000 square meters. This project will be in line with PM Modi’s ‘Make in India’ and ‘Vocal for Local’ initiatives. Tourists can get participate in the famous Ganga aarti, enjoy water activities, and spend time at the open theatre and library. There’s also a food court serving Banarasi cuisine. Namo ghat is specially-abled friendly and a ramp ensures that the elderly and specially-abled can roam around hassle-free.
