From Chicago To The Vatican: A Global Journey

Pope Leo XIV was born in Chicago, Illinois, in 1955. He joined the Order of Saint Augustine and later served as a missionary in Peru, where he became Bishop of Chiclayo. His years in South America shaped his pastoral outlook and strengthened his connection with diverse Catholic communities. According to the National Catholic Reporter, his work in Peru displayed his strong administrative skills and deep pastoral care.
