If you travel via plane frequently, you know that waiting for your luggage at the baggage claim can be one of the most mind-numbingly boring things to do. But! If you’re at the Venice airport, this mundane task has been turned into a fun waiting game! In a fun marketing gimmick, the Casinò di Venezia has taken over the baggage claim at the Venice Marco Polo Airport. The result? The baggage claim conveyor belt transformed into a fun game of Roulette!

This particular transformation is not new. The roulette baggage claim has been entertaining visitors for decades at this point. Weary visitors from the world over have been delighted by its fun charm.
The baggage claim is an example of what is known as ambient marketing. The roulette baggage claim is actually an innovative and sneaky advertisement of the Casinò di Venezia or the Venice Casino. Located close to the airport, the baggage claim serves as a perfect reminder for visitors to check out the casino.
If reports are to go by, the sales of the casino increased by 60 per cent since the baggage claim first received the roulette-inspired revamp. This particular detail shows that marketing techniques such as these can be incredibly effective when deployed strategically.

This is not the first time an airport has gotten creative with its baggage claim area. As a matter of fact, there is another airport in Frankfurt where the baggage claim has been transformed into a similar roulette belt.
In Japan’s Oita Airport, the baggage claim has been fashioned as a sushi conveyor belt, complete with giant fake sushi rolls. Such innovative exhibits add a nice, delightful twist in a traveller’s journey.
