But what prompted the family to leave Mumbai behind and embrace a slower, more peaceful life in Goa? Scroll on to find out!

Why Sameera Reddy Chose To Shift Base From Mumbai To Goa

When you’ve spent a large part of your life surrounded by cameras, paparazzi, and the fast-paced chaos of Mumbai, leaving it all behind for the laid-back life of Goa may seem almost impossible. But for Sameera Reddy, it was one of the best decisions she ever made.

Over the past few years, the actress has been giving fans a glimpse of her peaceful life in Goa through her social media. So, when we met her for the latest episode of Tere Gully Mein, we couldn’t help but ask what made her leave Mumbai behind.

As she took us around her lush home, where bananas, mangoes, and coconuts grow in the garden, Sameera shared, “I think Bombay chhodne ke baad maine socha ki I wanted to give my children something much more. And Goa has really given me more! I am telling you, subah se shaam I am just busy gardening! I am just gardening all the time!”

Local Food & Being Part Of A Community

Sameera Reddy also spoke about how her 93-year-old father continues to lead a healthy and active life by eating fresh, local produce, including desi eggs and chicken. She shared that seeing his lifestyle inspired her to give her own children a similar upbringing. “Maybe, coming to Goa mujhe laga shayad mere baccho ko bhi vaise hi local feel aa jaega, they’ll eat good local food too,” she added.

Sameera also shared that one of the things she loves most about Goa is its strong sense of community. Recalling a recent example, she revealed that her mango tree yielded around 350 mangoes this year, many of which she happily shared with her neighbours. In return, neighbours often exchange whatever fruits or vegetables are growing in their own gardens, something she says makes life in Goa even more special.
