During an episode of Tere Gully Mein, comedy’s favourite couple, Onkar Yadav and Shreya Priyam Roy, set out on what is supposed to be an extraordinary food trail. It starts, as most food episodes do, with plates on the table. But within minutes, it becomes very clear that the real dish being served here is Onkar’s wildly questionable relationship with food.
Is Onkar Really The King Of “Galat Food Experiments”?
The journey kicks off at Roti, Chutney, Chaach, a comfort-zone kind of place, the sort of spot you trust for proper, no-nonsense Haryanvi flavours. From there, Shreya takes charge at Magad and Awadh, a beloved Bihari food joint in Gurgaon. And you can tell she’s in her element as the confident foodie who genuinely wants to try everything on the menu, while Onkar is… well, Onkar.
When asked who’s more experimental with food, Shreya answers instantly that she’s the explorer and the curious one in the relationship. Onkar, according to her, is a different species altogether.
“Onkar ek aisa banda hai,” she says, laughing, “Jo Goa mein bhi jaake biryani order kar lega.”
The man will travel across states and still play it safe. Or so you think. Shreya pauses, then corrects herself with the kind of line that deserves its own comedy special, “No, he likes to experiment… but galat experiment.” Onkar doesn’t even deny it. He leans in.
“Galat experiment is also a genre,” he insists, and he is completely serious. And suddenly, we’re no longer talking about food trails, we’re talking about food crimes.

What Was The ‘Ra.One Noodles-With-Curd’ Moment Shreya Mentioned?
Shreya brings up that scene from the film Ra.One where Shah Rukh Khan eats noodles with curd, a moment that permanently altered the nation’s appetite. Onkar, she implies, has been living in that energy. Chai with banana? Bring it on. Taking a banana and turning it into an entire chaat situation? DONE!
Onkar interrupts, panicked, like a man caught mid-bite, “I can explain!”
And his explanation is unexpectedly wholesome.
He shares that his mother belongs to an area called Jind in Haryana, where these combinations aren’t shocking at all. They’re very much normal and more like everyday food.“Wahan pe chai ke saath kela is common,” he says, as Shreya completely loses it laughing.
And just when you think he’s finished, Onkar adds one final detail, the kind that makes you stare at the wall for a second. In that region, he claims, you could drink Mountain Dew with patasa, and nobody would bat an eye.

Because apparently, in Onkar’s world, bizarre food isn’t a mistake, it’s more like a tradition. And honestly, that might be the funniest part of all.
