This strategic partnership goes beyond just increasing flight options. Vietjet plans to collaborate closely with Laos’ Department of Civil Aviation. This will help implement various aviation-related projects, aiming to further expand air travel within Laos. This ambitious move is expected to generate a significant number of new jobs – up to 2,500 – in the Laotian aviation sector.

Vietjet’s commitment extends to establishing its own Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) facilities in Laos. To ensure a skilled workforce, the airline’s Vietjet Aviation Academy will play a crucial role. The academy will train new employees according to the highest international aviation standards, ensuring safety and efficiency.

In return, as a supportive partner, the Laotian Department of Civil Aviation will provide administrative, legal, and facility support. They will also work alongside other relevant agencies to streamline the execution of these projects.

This expansion by Vietjet promises to bring affordable air travel options and high-quality services to both Laotian citizens and international tourists visiting the country. These initiatives are expected to act as a catalyst for economic and social development in Laos.

They will likely enhance trade, tourism connectivity, and cultural exchange not just between Vietnam and Laos, but also with other regional neighbours. Looking beyond Laos, Vietjet has already made significant strides in expanding its presence in India.

Vietjet operates 29 round-trip flights per week between Vietnam and four Indian cities: New Delhi, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, and Kochi. Their modern fleet, dedicated crews, and targeted promotions for Indian customers all highlight their commitment to the Indian market.
