Vietnam’s Vietjet has officially joined hands with Kazakhstan’s Qazaq Air to launch a new low-cost airline – Vietjet Qazaqstan – to improve regional connectivity and unlock new economic opportunities across Asia. The announcement came during the Vietnamese General Secretary To Lam’s state visit to Kazakhstan, highlighting the strengthening diplomatic ties between the two countries.

Vietjet Qazaqstan marks a strategic move for both Vietjet and Qazaq Air. Backed by Vietnam’s Ministry of Finance, Vietjet’s Aviation Holdings has acquired a strategic equity stake in Qazaq Air. The two carriers will jointly develop and operate Vietjet Qazaqstan, which will function as a new-age low-cost airline to boost trade, tourism, and logistics across Central and Southeast Asia.

With this joint venture, Vietjet reaffirms its position as a pioneer in bringing affordable air travel to wider regions. Vietjet Qazaqstan is expected to operate with a modern fleet, adopt digital management systems, and follow global standards in crew training and safety.

This new airline will help enhance mobility between Asia’s emerging markets while fostering business partnerships and cultural exchange.

Boeing Collaboration Ensures Future-Ready Operations

Vietjet Qazaqstan signed a comprehensive agreement with Boeing to support the future fleet of Boeing 737 aircraft. Boeing will offer end-to-end services, including software solutions, spare parts supply, technical support, and advanced training programmes for pilots and engineers.

This partnership also covers aircraft modifications and upgrades, ensuring safety, efficiency, and long-term service reliability. Vietjet Qazaqstan plans to operate at least 20 Boeing 737 aircraft, allowing rapid expansion of both domestic and international routes.

Vietjet Qazaqstan adds to Vietjet’s growing list of international ventures. Following the success of Vietjet Thailand, this Kazakh expansion reflects the airline’s broader mission to drive regional growth. Vietjet continues to launch direct flights between Vietnam and major Asian hubs.

In recent months, Vietjet began new non-stop services connecting Hyderabad and Bengaluru to Ho Chi Minh City. The airline also introduced routes from Vietnam to major cities in China and Japan, including Beijing, Guangzhou, Nagoya, and Fukuoka.
