First-Time US Tourist Visa Applicants Get A Sense Of Relief

US Ambassador to India, Eric Garcetti, recently spoke at IIT Delhi. He announced an over 50% reduction in waiting time for first-time US tourist visa interviews.

Garcetti also highlighted the improved visa processing progress, surpassing previous efficiency records. He affirmed that the current visa processing rate is the highest ever achieved by any US Mission in India.

This was their effort in showcasing their enhanced efficiency.

He also stated their aim to process at least 1 million visas by 2023. Focusing their emphasis on facilitating travel and promoting international exchanges.

This announcement brings much-needed reassurance and relief to Indians awaiting their tourist visas for an extended period.

Garcetti also said that they were already more than halfway towards reaching that goal.

During his speech to the Indian diaspora at the esteemed Ronald Reagan Building in Washington, Prime Minister Narendra Modi made a significant announcement. This was a part of Modi’s US State Visit.

He stated that Indian professionals would henceforth be exempted from leaving the United States to renew their H-1B visas and could renew it in the States itself.

This policy change aims to provide greater convenience and eliminate disruptions for skilled individuals, enabling them to continue their contributions to the American workforce seamlessly.

Following a bilateral meeting between Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and US President Joe Biden, another important announcement was made regarding establishing new consulates in Bengaluru and Ahmedabad.

Prime Minister Modi disclosed this development during his address, highlighting the expansion of diplomatic presence by the United States in these key Indian cities.
