Wall Of Gallantry! Delhi Metro Unveils Art Installation Dedicated To Param Vir Chakra Awardees At Moti Bagh Station

To honour the bravehearts of our nation, Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has unveiled an entire wall at Moti Bagh Metro Station, dedicated to Param Vir Chakra recipients. The wall with hand-painted portraits of the 21 Param Vir Chakra recipients beckons every passenger to halt and pay their respects to the nation’s heroes.

Delhi Metro Unveils Art Installation Dedicated To Param Vir Chakra Recipients

Delhi Metro Rail Corporation took to its official X (formerly Twitter) handle to announce the new art installation on the Pink Line. A heartfelt tribute to India’s bravest. An entire platform wall of Sir M. Vishweshwaraiah Moti Bagh Metro station has been dedicated to the nation’s heroes. The artwork crafted by supremely talented artists showcases 21 Param Vir Chakra recipients, including Captain Vikram Batra, Major Somnath Sharma, Major Dhan Singh Thapa, among other bravehearts.

Param Vir Chakra is the highest military decoration awarded for the most remarkable bravery in the presence of the enemy. It’s awarded to India’s bravehearts regardless of one’s branch of service or rank. DMRC revealed in its statement that the tribute wall reflects the metro body’s deep commitment to honour the sacrifices by valiant soldiers. The platforms of Sir M. Vishweshwaraiah Moti Bagh Metro have been turned into a stunning gallery, showcasing the portraits of the valiant heroes.

DMRC’s Larger Mission To Instil National Pride Amongst Passengers

With this initiative, DMRC wishes to call upon commuters to take a pause and introspect on the lives of the exemplary soldiers. Soldiers who have showcased selfless dedication to keep our nation safe. DMRC is on a larger mission to instil the essence of national pride into public spaces. Already, many metro stations have been named after decorated military personnel.

This includes decorated military personnel like Arjan Garh, Brigadier Hoshiar Singh and Brigadier Hoshiar Singh. Meanwhile, Rajouri Garden Metro Station has a permanent exhibition to honour gallantry award recipients.
