Atlantis, The Palm is known for offering some of the most luxurious amenities to the guests. However, quite recently, an Indian woman has gone viral for drying clothes on the balcony railing of the ultra-luxurious Dubai hotel. Inviting several comments about the ‘peak desi mom moment’ to criticism citing how it’s against the rules of Dubai municipality for the city’s aesthetic appearance, the comments section was certainly a battlefield. Pallavi Venkatesh recently shared an Instagram video of her mother. In the video, the woman can be seen hanging clothes to dry on the balcony of the ultra-luxurious Atlantis, The Palm in Dubai. In the Reel, one can see the elderly woman hanging clothes for drying on the balcony railing, with the camera later panning to another balcony where clothes are hanging outside to dry in the sun.

Ever since the video was shared, it has raked up 11.1 million views with 966 comments at the time of writing this article. The comments section has been flooded with mixed reactions from the people. With people say that it is against the Dubai Municipality’s handbook of guidelines that urging people towards ways, in which they can make the city’s aesthetic appearance better to heartwarming comments about peak desi mom moments. Some have even taken to criticise how one should take a moment to know about the rules and regulations of the hotel that the person is staying at. In fact, the hotel also replied to the comment and it’s as sweet as it gets.

Is It Against The Rule In Dubai?

At this point, it’s worth mentioning that back in 2021, Dubai Municipality rolled out awareness for the requirements and standards to avoid distorting the city’s general aesthetic and civilised appearance. Yes, this included hanging the laundry on the balcony or the window, throwing waste from the balcony, and even installing satellite dishes or any other type of antenna on the balcony. These were just some of them other guidelines that the municipality urged the residents to avoid in order to keep from distorting the city’s general aesthetics.
