Move Prompted After The Recent Bandra Terminus Stampede
On Sunday, nine people were injured after a stampede occurred at Mumbai’s Bandra Terminus railway station. As per reports, chaos ensued at the station when large crowds tried to board the 22-coach unreserved Bandra-Gorakhpur Antyodaya Express. While massive crowds during the festive season are common, the chaos on Bandra Terminus was worrisome. This stampede promoted Western Railways to introduce Unreserved Festival Special Trains on the aforementioned routes.
We hope that with this move, the authorities are able to manage the crowd better!
