Eating mindlessly and feeling guilty afterwards is a common problem many of us face. But some easy hacks and tricks can help break this habit. Rujuta Diwekar, a well-known nutritionist with a huge social media following, is also behind the healthy and lip-smacking meals of Bollywood star Kareena Kapoor. She recently posted a video on Instagram revealing ‘The Jordan Formula’, a simple method to enjoy snacks without guilt.

The formula, taken from her recently authored book The Commonsense Diet, explains how we should always keep the number of snacks an odd number. In the video, she gives a relatable example: say you have a plate full of sabudana vadas or any of your favourite snacks. How do you decide how many to eat?

She explains it like this: take 1 sabudana vada first. Now, only help yourself to a 2nd serving if you are sure you can eat the 3rd too. If you are unsure about the 3rd, don’t go for the 2nd either; just stop at 1. Similarly, if you have had 3, ask yourself if you can go for the 4th or 5th. If not, stay at 3. The idea is to stop at an odd number, which helps you stay mindful and in control, without denying yourself completely.
