The fan following of Formula 1 races is crazy, and for the fans, the latest F1: The Movie starring Brad Pitt is a treat to watch. The interesting part of this movie is that most of the scenes are shot in real places, including actual Formula 1 race tracks used for filming the high-speed racing sequences.

F1: The Movie is a Hollywood sports film directed by Joseph Kosinski. This movie features fan-favourite Brad Pitt in the lead role, along with Damson Idris, Kerry Condon, and Javier Bardem. It also featured real-life racers like Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen. This movie was released on June 27, 2025. Brad Pitt plays the role of Sonny Hayes, a former driver who returns to Formula 1 racing to help save APX GP from bankruptcy.

Real Racing Tracks That Featured In F1: The Movie

Let’s take a look at some amazing real-life racing tracks featured in Brad Pitt’s latest movie.

1. Daytona International Speedway, Florida, USA

Daytona International Speedway in Florida, USA, hosts the 24 Hours of Daytona annually. It served as the perfect backdrop for Brad Pitt’s thrilling entry as Sonny Hayes in F1: The Movie. To enhance the excitement of the scene, real race footage was used.

2. Silverstone Circuit, UK

The Silverstone Circuit in England was used for the practice session scene. Here, the actors also drove Formula 2 cars that were modified to resemble Formula One vehicles. This iconic circuit is best known for hosting the British Grand Prix.

3. Yas Marina Circuit, Abu Dhabi, UAE

Yas Marina Circuit, known for hosting the season-ending F1 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, was also used for the final race in the film, adding an authentic touch to the scene.

4. Circuit De Spa-Francorchamps, Belgium

This track is considered one of the most beautiful circuits and hosts prestigious races such as the Formula One Belgian Grand Prix, the 24 Hours of Spa, and the World Endurance Championship.

5. Monza Circuit, Italy

The Monza circuit is also known as Autodromo Nazionale Monza and hosts the Italian Grand Prix. What makes this track extra special? It organises “track days” and “driving experiences” for fans to feel like an F1 driver. 

6. Suzuka Circuit, Japan

Another real-life racing circuit featured in Brad Pitt’s movie is the Suzuka Circuit. If you visit, you’ll be glad to know it also includes a water park, roller coasters, and a pool. The circuit has hosted the Japanese Super Formula Championship, the Japanese Grand Prix, and various motorcycle races.

7. Hungaroring, Hungary

Hungaroring is known for its twisty layout, which makes overtaking front-runners particularly challenging. It hosts the Hungarian Grand Prix and also offers fans a chance to experience the circuit and appreciate its high level of difficulty.

8. Circuit Zandvoort, Netherlands

Circuit Zandvoort, often referred to as the ‘old-school circuit,’ began hosting Formula 1 races in 2021 and will continue to be the venue for the Dutch Grand Prix until 2026. This 4.259 km motorsport track is particularly challenging due to its natural dune landscape.

9. Las Vegas Strip Circuit, the US

The Las Vegas Strip Circuit spans 6.2 kilometres and features 17 turns, making it challenging for drivers to maintain high speeds. In one of the scenes of F1: The Movie, racers can be seen passing iconic landmarks such as the Boulevard, Caesars Palace, Bellagio, and the MSG Sphere. This circuit is the newest addition to the Formula One calendar, having debuted in 2023.

10. Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez, Mexico

Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez has a 4.304 km race track and was built in 1959. This circuit is located at 2,240 metres above sea level and is named after the famous drivers Ricardo and Pedro Rodríguez.

Off-Track Real Locations in F1: The Movie

Apart from racing tracks, the other real-life locations shown in the movie are: 

1. Christina’s Coin Laundry, New Smyrna Beach, Florida

Do you remember the scene where Sonny Hayes met his former teammate/manager, APX GP, Ruben? Well, that location was Christina’s Coin Laundry at New Smyrna Beach.

2. McLaren Technology Centre, England

The APX GP team’s headquarters in the movie were actually the McLaren Technology Centre. And not only in this movie, but this location was used in the Star Wars series as well.

3. The Globe Inn, Bedfordshire

The Globe Inn is a pub and restaurant located at the edge of the Grand Union Canal. In the movie, at this location, Sonny and APX’s technical director, Kate McKenna, met for a drink.

4. Caesar’s Palace & Omnia Nightclub, Las Vegas

For the last real-life location in F1: The Movie, we have Caesar’s Palace & Omnia Nightclub. At this location in the movie, the team bonded off track and showed the cameo of Dutch DJ Tiesto.

The filmmaker’s decision to use the real-life locations instead of a green screen setup was brilliant. It gave the viewers a spectacular experience with the racing scenes feeling more intense and exciting.
